Henry D Curry

June 30, 1966 - September 21, 2020

Henry Dewayne Curry, 54, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2020 amongst friends.

Dewayne, as he was affectionately called, was born June 30, 1966 in Lorain Ohio, and was the first son of Mattie Curry. He graduated from Clearview High School in 1984. After high school Dwayne spent time working for Vector in Elyria, Ohio where he worked as a Rutile Dipper. Dewayne had skillful hands. He used his natural talent and enjoyed creating beautiful basket weavings from vines. As well, he had a knack for repairing and rebuilding bicycles. He loved music and really enjoyed listening to music with family and friends for hours into the evening. His greatest joy was his grandchildren, as that was when the biggest smile was on his face.

He is survived by his mother; Mattie Curry, his children; Ashley (Lawrence) Curry Scott, Desi Curry, Henry Curry Jr., John Curry, and Briana Burress-Parnell, his siblings; Dale (Georgia) Curry, Tommy (Mandy) Curry, and Felicia Curry, 14 grandchildren; and special friend Jamie Snezek; all of Lorain, Ohio.

Henry was proceeded in death by his grandparents; John and May Helen Curry, and brothers; Cleve and Maurice Curry.

A walk-through viewing will be Monday, September 28, 2020 at 11 a.m. with the private service following at Noon at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 3900 Clifton Ave, Lorain Ohio 44055. Minister Kevin Curry will officiate the service. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.

Social distances and COVID-19 safe practices are required; must wear a mask.

A repast and fellowship will be held at 3:00 PM at Steel City Bar, 1804 E. 28th St. Lorain, OH 44055.
