Harold Lee Jackson

February 28, 1917 - November 24, 2018

Harold Lee Jackson, known to family and friends as “Skinny”, departed this life on Saturday November 24, 2018 in O’Neill Healthcare Hospice at the age of 101 years old.

Harold was born on February 28, 1917 in Elyria, Ohio where he was raised and attended Elyria High School. Following high school, he made a courageous decision to serve in the United States Army during World War II. He enjoyed sports, particularly watching the Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers, and most importantly enjoyed spending time with his family. Harold was known for his quick wit and memorable words of wisdom, such as “Life is like music you can B sharp and C flat.”

He is survived by one daughter, Gloria Jean Jackson of Detroit, Michigan; 37 grandchildren, 74 great grandchildren, 54 great-great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great grandson, leaving a legacy that will continue to be shared with the world.

Harold was preceded in death by his children, Barbara Jean Arnold, Harrison Jackson Sr, Harold Perry Jackson, Huey Morris, LaShelle Sweatt (Morris), Hillary Morris, Cassandra “Connie” Robles (Morris), Elijah Morris, Toria Allen (Morris); his parents, Martha Pitts and Fletcher Jackson.

A celebration of Harold’s life will be held on Wednesday November 28, 2018 with a viewing at 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 614 W River Road N, Elyria. Rev. Calvin Currie is officiating.

Burial will be in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Thursday November 29, 2018 at 10:30 AM.
