Eddie Charles Hermon

Deacon Eddie Charles Hermon, 66, of Lorain passed away Friday, September 7, 2018 in Mercy Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness. He was born December 11, 1951 in Indianola, Mississippi. He resided in Chicago, Illinois before moving to Lorain, Ohio thirteen years ago. As a resident of Chicago he worked for the city’s water and sewer department as a foreman. After retiring he relocated to Lorain, Ohio.

He was a member of Living Word Church in Lorain where he served in the ministry as a deacon. He was a former member of the Democrats Organization in Chicago. He enjoyed baseball, basketball, and gardening.

Eddie is survived by his wife of 47 years, Teretha Hermon; his five children: Eric (Vickie) Truman, Damien Burks, Tiffanni Hermon, Nicole Hermon, and Michael (Natasha) Hermon; 16 grandchildren: Amber, Victor, Eric Jr., Alexis, Erica, Latajara, Damieon, Martice (Alex), Taylor, Nicholas, Nia, Jeffrey, Michael, Mikiya, Nakeya and Martice; his siblings: Gwendolyn Hermon, Gene Hermon, Cornell (Teresa) Hermon, Vanessa (Sylvester) Williams, Delores Hermon, Kimberly (Shane) Hermon; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David Hermon Sr and Betty Hermon (nee Kelly); brother, David Hermon Jr; and sister, Cornelia Thompson.

Visitation is Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Living Word Church, 658 E Erie Ave, Lorain. Elder Ray H Robinson Jr, pastor, is officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst.
